Which Custodian/Broker do you use?
We use TD Ameritrade Institutional Services. For you, they provide professional peace of mind as you can be assured they make sure your funds are secure and reduce the first of theft. They provide us with a wonderful back office interface and support team.
Are the investment reports clear and easy to understand?
Most brokers simply send you a statement showing what is in your account. Many people find this confusing because the statement does not indicate how the investment performed. AFS provides you with an easy to read investment performance report each quarter in addition to the statement you receive from our broker, TD Ameritrade. AFS will meet with you periodically to review your investments and answer any questions you may have.
How often do we meet together?
Our meetings vary depending on the needs of our clients. For some clients, an annual meeting is enough, other clients would like to meet more often. We are flexible and seek to serve your needs. Our best client is one who trusts us and feels comfortable asking us questions.

During a typical meeting, we review your financial goals and discuss any investment changes. We listen to your concerns and offer a stable, experienced approach to investing.

Do you act as my Fiduciary when investing?
Our fiduciary relationship with you requires us to act on your behalf and in your interest above our own. We will not recommend anything that we do not believe is truly in your best interest.
Is your Financial Advisor registered and licensed?
AFS is a Registered Investment Advisor in both New York and Virginia. David Luck holds an MBA and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. As a CPA and CFP, David is held to a higher standard of expertise and experience. At your first meeting,
Do you offer financial coaching
Coaching is a series of meetings designed to get you on track financially. To accomplish this, we may review your tax returns, investments, insurance, retirement benefits, other assets and your loans and debts. Working together, we may develop a financial plan and act as your coach while you live it out. Along the way, we continue to meet to discuss progress, tweak the plan and re-balance the investments to fit your long term objectives.
How do you charge for your services and How much?
We are a Fee Only planner which means the list of investments we offer is not limited to those products that pay a commission. Our fee is based on a percentage of the value of the investments we are managing or an hourly fee of $175 per hour. We are happy to discuss our fees or you may review all our fees and services in our Investment BrochureWe do not receive any commissions or referral fees for our advice.
